Gatlinburg Marriage Licenses

You can purchase your Tennessee marriage license at the County Clerk's Marriage License Centers. Applicants are not required to be residents of Sevier County or the state of Tennessee to get married. There is no waiting period or blood test required. Marriage license can be used the same day you apply.

Requirements:

Both parties must be in attendance.

Both parties must be at least 18 years of age.

A valid driver's license or certified birth certificate is required as proof of age.

A social security card.

A valid passport required if not a U.S. citizen.

You may bring a valid Tennessee marriage license from anywhere in the state of Tennessee, however licenses are valid for only 30 days after issue.

If you've been married before, you will need the month and year of your divorce, or the date of your spouse's death. If the bride had a name change in her divorce and has not changed her name on her driver's license, a certified copy of her divorce decree must be provided.

Fee for out of state residents is $41.00 cash, or we also accept Visa or Mastercard with a small processing fee.

Fee for Tennessee residents is $101.00 cash, or we also accept Visa or Mastercard with a small processing fee. The $60.00 fee will be waived if applicants complete a four hour premarital course and present a notarized certificate of completion, which can be obtained through our office.

Fees for marriage certificates are non-refundable.

Anyone under 18, interested in applying for a marriage license, will need to contact the Sevier County Clerk's Office for specifics.
