Appalachian Outdoors Whitewater Rafting
Come experience some of the best white water in the Smoky Mountains around Gatlinburg, TN. Owners Robert and Amanda Ogle have been paddling America's rivers for a combined 20 years. The professional staff at Appalachian Outdoors will take you on an exciting, guided trip down the beautiful Pigeon River as it travels through the scenic Cherokee National Forest. The Upper Pigeon trip is 6 1/2 miles of action-packed class II-IV rapids and a great swimming spot. No experience is required for the Upper Pigeon trip, but rafters must be 8 years of age or 70 pounds. For the less adventurous or the rafter with small children, the 4-mile Lower Pigeon trip has class I and II rapids plus one class III rapid and a swimming spot. Rafters on the Lower Pigeon trip must be at least 4 years of age.
