Gatlinburg Events - July 2014

Smoky Mountain Tunes and Tales - April 4 thru August 9
Stroll along the Parkway in downtown Gatlinburg and you will discover story tellers, musical performers, cloggers and more. Smoky Mountain Tunes & Tales takes place on Friday and Saturday nights during April, May and June 1-12. Beginning on June 13th through August 9th, the event expands to every night.

Gatlinburg Farmers Market - May 17 thru September 13
A great place to buy tasty and nutritious, locally grown produce, the Gatlinburg Farmers Market also offers homemade goods including honey, bread and jellies. The Farmers Market is open on Saturdays from 8 am until 11:30 am at the Covered Bridge in the Glades at 849 Glades Road.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park Events - June 12 thru August 16
All summer long, you'll find a myriad of special programs taking place in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park including scenic hikes & leisure walks, hay rides, blacksmith demonstrations, daily milling demonstrations, mountain music & tales, nature & educational programs and much, much more.

Free Trolley on the Parkway - June 13 - August 17
This summer you can enjoy free trolley rides along the Parkway on the Gatlinburg trolley. The special free trolley route has 40 stops along the Parkway for your convenience. For just $2/day, you can get an all-day ride pass for the Blue, Red, Green, Purple and Yellow Trolley routes. You can purchase all-day passes at the Mass Transit Center, City Welcome Centers, City Hall and many Gatlinburg hotels.

Gatlinburg Gathering 2014 - July 2-5
Enjoy amazing Southern Gospel music in the beautiful Smoky Mountains. Nightly at 6:30 pm, from Wednesday through Saturday, the Gatlinburg Convention Center will host exciting performances by some of the top names in Southern Gospel Music, as well as some of the country's most prominent speakers, evangelists and pastors. The Wednesday night concert features performances by Triumphant Quartet, Perrys, Dailey & Vincent, Brian Free & Assurance, Erwins and special speaker Herb Reavis. Artists performing Thursday night will be Jeff & Sheri Easter, Talleys, Tribute Quartet, Isaacs, LeFevre Quartet and special speaker Jon Bowman. On Friday night, Greater Vision, Legacy Five, Ivan Parker, Mark Trammell Quartet, Whisnants and special speaker Phil Hoskins will take the stage. Saturday's concert lineup includes the Collingsworth Family, Hoppers, Jason Crabb, Karen Peck & New River, Allen Family and special speaker Jeff Laborg. Midnight 4th of July Parade - July 3-4
The Independence Day Parade in downtown Gatlinburg, the 1st July Fourth Parade in the Nation, begins at midnight on July 3rd. Get downtown early to stake out your spot. Approximately 100,000 people line the Parkway every year to watch the parade. You'll see decorated & lighted floats, large balloons, horses and more. Come out and honor our nation's independence.

Annual River Raft Regatta - July 4
Race unmanned floatable objects (anything floatable can be entered) in the Little Pigeon River. Registration begins at 10 am and the Regatta begins at noon on the Little Pigeon River in downtown Gatlinburg. You can race in either of 2 categories: Treasure (hand-made objects) or Trash (not hand-made objects). The top 3 in each category will receive an award and a Judges Choice award will be given to the most creative entry. For more information call 800-568-4748.

Fireworks Show - July 4
Take part in the Independence Day celebration and enjoy the Gatlinburg 4th of July Fireworks show. The fireworks display is visible from downtown Gatlinburg and lights up the Smoky Mountain skyline. You can also relax and watch the fireworks show, if you're staying in a cabin overlooking Gatlinburg.

Gatlinburg Craftsmen's Fair - July 18-27
Join us at the Gatlinburg Convention Center where the country's finest craftsmen and artisans will be on hand to exhibit their wares and demonstrate their skills. You'll see a variety of arts & crafts on display including wood carving, pottery, quilting, carving, broom, dulcimer, furniture and candle making, calligraphy, stained glass, basket weaving and much more. Tennessee State Square Dance Convention - July 31 thru August 2
The Tennessee State Square Dance Convention returns to Gatlinburg for its 40th annual convention. It doesn't matter if you're a casual or ardent square dancer or if you're a round dancer or line dancer. You'll enjoy the Tennessee State Square Dance Convention. The convention will be held from Thursday through Saturday at the W. L. Mills Conference Center. A live band will perform, plus more than 60 talented callers, cuers and lines instructors will be in action during the event. Hit the all wood floors in 5 dancing halls. The convention also features workshops, singles' activities, vendors, a fashion show, sewing clinic, yard sale and more.
